Yvette Angelique Hyater-Adams

Her core platform is as a writer, teaching artist, and narrative practitioner in Applied Behavioral Science. Her work brings people together in honest dialogue to unpack and reframe cultural differences, shared power, empathy, equity, possibility and belonging.

So how does a poet and writer live inside a corporate banker and CEO? It's been a dual path. At CoreStates Financial Corp, Yvette was Senior Vice President of Change Management Strategy designing culture change projects in diversity, re-engineering, and process improvement. As CEO of Prime Directive Consulting Group, her team led comprehensive diversity, culture change, and leadership projects at Fortune 500 companies and nonprofits. Yvette served as interim President for NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science and led the organization through tough restructuring. Parallel to her business agenda, Yvette devoted long hours to write, publish, and teach creative and scholarly writing.

Yvette earned a Graduate Certificate in Creative Writing at the University of Denver, an M.A in Transformative Language Arts in Creative Writing for Personal and Social Change at Goddard College and a B.S. in Occupational Education & Workforce Training at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She is a certified facilitator in the Amherst Writers and Artists Method; she is trained in Poetry Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Yvette is an NTL T-Group Facilitator and teaches leadership coaching.

Her work and accomplishments are featured in several business books, articles, and in a 2001 Harvard Business case study.
